Common area renovation in an independent & assisted living facility.

THE CHALLENGE:

Walker Place needed to create a new solution for its residents that offered better community living and enhanced marketing appeal.

THE SOLUTION:

Looking to create a more engaging environment for residents, the project focused on common areas that brought residents together and connected the facility to the larger CCRC on which it resided.

Elements of the renovation included the creation of a new dining area with fireside dining with a private dining room for special guests. Looking to offer a greater array of amenities for active residents, the facility now also offers:

• Bistro for casual drinks and snacks
• Fitness center for senior wellness
• Art room & wood shop for crafts and projects
• Beauty shop & massage parlor for pampering
• A lounge that over looks the campus garden
• Multi-purpose room with kitchen

A primary objective for adding new amenities was the creation of a new circulation program that would encourage residents to explore new areas and take advantage of casual opportunities for socialization and activity.
