THE CHALLENGE:

A typical institutional model, the facility faced the need to update its environment for the improvement of resident quality of life and expanding care services.

THE SOLUTION:

Augustana Care Center has reconfigured each floor to improve resident quality of life through smaller neighborhoods designed to uniquely care for resident's individualized needs. These neighborhoods are designed to create a sense of home which residents can identify through unique character elements and colors.

Key to this project will be the creation of a comprehensive therapy area to address expanding service needs. The new therapy space will bring together three smaller locations into a single cohesive unit. The entrance was also renovated to create a more welcoming lobby and defined reception area.

It also incorporates several sustainability components as part of the renovation, with improvements made for energy usage, air quality and natural materials.
