THE CHALLENGE:
Recognizing the responsiblity to the housing needs of the community, Bethesda Homes looked to WAI Continuum to expand their CCRC. Challenges included:
- Phasing construction with other campus elements being added
- Create a design that allows for affordable housing
- Capture additional funding sources to assist in project financing

The finished project has integrated a design that allows for it to capture HUD 202 funding to provide affordable housing options to regional seniors. Further, acting as a development consultant, WAI Continuum with cooperation from city officials, was able to capture incorporate tax increment financing for the project.
The final design not only reflects the campus identity, but that of the community itself. It provides not only suitable apartments but opportunity for resident gathering and socialization in various points throughout the facility.
