Client: Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society
Inver Grove Heights, MN – Saint Paul architecture firm WAI Continuum has been awarded the commission for planning and design of a new senior affordable housing projects. Sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, $3.3 million dollar project will create 40 one and two bedroom affordable apartment units.
The project looks to expand the current skilled nursing presence in Inver Grove Heights offering independent living options through HUD 202 financing. In addition to normal capital advances and/or rent subsidies typically offered by HUD financing programs, the Section 202 program looks to directly expand the supply of affordable housing for elderly that offers support services. This initiative helps to provide seniors with options allowing them to live independently in an environment that provides support activities such as cleaning, cooking, transportation, etc.
The project is slated to start construction later this year with project completion scheduled for Fall 2005.
